Harabati Tekke
With the expedite geostrategic position, being in the crossroads and the fertile soil of pollog, Tetova attracted the attention of various conquerors. In the XV century this city was invaded by Turks. With the coming of the Turks the culture developed. Its center became the Complex of Bektashian Tekke–HARABATI (Tekke) 1538 – 1548 built by Sersem Ali Dede.
The ottomans gave to Tetova lots of public and religious objects of the Islamic culture: mosque, Tekke, public kitchens for the poor, hamams (public bathrooms), fountains etc.
It is worth mentioning the library of Teqe-Arabat (XVIII-XIX century) because there is developed the culture and education parallel with the Islam religion. In this library, intellectual works were copied with chosen calligraphy of that time, which later were decorated with ornaments covered with leather.
